Walk- Education, Gen Z, Reaction To Women Leaving Christianity

Education is a bloated business
Is Gen Z just lazy or given the short end of the stick?
Why can't anyone bring up the stats on women leaving the Church and Christianity without a vitriolic reaction?

number it's not like this exclusive
thing anymore everybody goes it is a
system it is a a business the the the
universities certainly look at this as a
business first and as an education
center second
with
the addition of government money given
for PEL grants and given for especially
for student loans the money is endless
it is it is a massive billions and
billions of dollars that uh are
accessible from these universities from
the government and the
taxpayers and so you are inevitably
going to have corruption and you're
inevitably going to have a system where
values are going to change and that's
what's happened with a lot of the
universities maybe most maybe almost all
of the universities is they've turned
into businesses that are trying to take
advantage of all of this available money
that comes from the
government and so they become
um burdened really self-burdened with
administrators
they are so bloated with administrators
now that their payroll is so high
because they don't know what to do with
all their money and they end up now what
what has happened is you be get you with
any organization when you have access to
that kind of money and that kind of
growth look at the tech industry you end
up with more and more specifics you want
to keep growing you want to add
different sections you want to uh
purchase other companies right you this
is what happens with the universities
they go in and they start a new
department and then that department ends
up with new more
specified
specialties and and so you add those in
and now you need more faculty and more
administrators for those things and and
it becomes you get so drilled down on
certain specific things that really
have no bearing on a future for a
student but they have a great bearing on
the bottom line of the
universities and so if you go into the
humanities and you're studying the
humanities and and you go down into
these very specialized types of of
departments and and
uh you know
majors um queer theory and and and
gender studies and uh etc
then your your your your future is
basically in academia and so it's
self-perpetuating and the PhDs now
there's so many
PhDs whose future is primarily either in
research with a university teaching with
a university or perhaps in perhaps in
some other type of uh um role in in uh
other industries but now there's so many
of them and and so many people that have
gone to college that the competition is
so high for people that have a degree
it's not the same thing anymore
and now we're going into a world where
technology is so new and it's so
utilized and so broad
um in its uh in its practice that it's
you don't have the specialties in the
schools anymore to keep on the cutting
edge and so you end up with the
billionaires that are out there many of
them who have never even graduated from
college because they took advantage of
new
technology and so the question arise
arises that how important is this how
important is college i'm not trying to
downplay education at all but it's not
for
everyone it's not for everyone yes I
know in the church we have a real drive
for education we're a very educated
group that's a positive
however education has got to be fixed it
is it is it has changed drastically in
the last number of decades and and I
think that this has a profound influence
on the younger generations that are
going through this process i mean you
have in many cases you have a family
that is going to borrow money perhaps
put a mortgage on their home whatever
they need to do to pay the astronomical
fees for tuition and
more and they go to college and this kid
is going to study they're going to do
well and the opportunities just aren't
what they used to be in terms of a new
job when they get when they graduate
with a degree it's just not the same
thing and they end up the family ends up
with debt or the student goes gets all
of the debt themselves borrows the money
from the government which the schools
are more than happy to
accept and then they're laden with debt
few opportunities lowpaying jobs and
it's very difficult and so you'll see
online you'll go and you'll see these
these graduates that that are in their
jobs and they're crying because they
can't make any money there is
some falsehood to this in terms of
context and and relativity to other
generations in other words most everyone
graduates and doesn't get into a
highpaying job right most everyone
graduates and does not get into a
highpaying job however however we need
to look at the circumstances here it is
very different from my generation for
example generation X
that had opportunities and there were
jobs available there was a growing
economy and I wasn't battling for a new
home with corporations and with with the
older generation
uh that was buying up these new homes
and and prices were not as high as they
are
now in in in housing i mean housing
prices are absolutely ridiculous look at
these f these fences here they are
destroying this park i don't know what
they're doing i think that they
are I think they're draining the ponds
here not sure why but I think they're
draining all the ponds so we've got a
lot of chain leak fences in this video
so we may look sometimes at Gen Z for
example and say "Well they're lazy." And
and maybe there is more laziness maybe
social media and and the internet has
pulled them away from people skills has
pulled them away from being around an
individual has pulled them away from
productivity and learning uh things that
are actually valuable in their lives uh
doing things that are hard building up
resilience these are probably all true
things but also true is the fact that
the opportunities are not there we have
uh interest rates that are still high
higher than they should be we have high
h high pricing in housing we have
limited opportunity with jobs not that
they're not there but they're they're
not really high not real available and
they're not very highpaying many times
and so they are contending with all of
these things and what has happened is
you've got an older generation that has
is now still making all the money as
they as they live longer and work longer
and uh they're into a home that they can
afford because they bought it you know
numbers a number of years ago and they
have less overhead personally and they
have uh a growing 401k that has grown
quite a while over the last several
decades
and so the younger generation is still
battling with this immigration is a huge
issue and some people say might say
"Well that they're just immigration is
just taking the jobs that are not
available for Americans." Eventually it
it trickles up eventually it trickles up
and and that is an issue no question
that that is an issue in
uh in in in highpaying jobs and
availability what it's not an issue for
is really rich people who are constantly
looking for low wages so that they can
uh grow their business get their stock
value higher that is an important thing
and they want to bring in you know
people from other countries legally also
that are going to do the job at half the
price that someone here in the United
States is going to do so we're battling
with a lot right now and there needs to
be a shift in the economy we've got to
move money not take money but open up
opportunities for the younger
generations
i want to talk about a
positive that turns into a negative but
I want to talk about a positive here
that is uh important to understand and
that is if we look at religiosity what
has happened in the last just few years
is a absolute turnaround from young men
and religion and Christianity young men
are staying active in Christianity
young men are uh going to church they're
more spiritual they're more tied to
their religion than they have been in
decades and this is a really important
thing we need more men in the church and
so the younger generation has turned
more religious
um
however the negative side of
this is that women 18 to 30 are falling
away from the church women overall are
falling away from
Christianity but the biggest issue is
that the youngest women are falling away
from the church at a very high
rate and relatively and it's it's pretty
concerning because women really are the
last line of defense with religion it's
usually men that aren't going
consistently they don't need the
community as much or they don't want the
community as much and maybe they
struggle a little bit more with a
relationship with God um there are a
number of different issues that can be
looked at but it's usually women that
are going to church and and holding that
up and and oftentimes even in a family
right it's the women that are making
sure that the family goes to church and
that they're involved with our
church but that younger generation has
switched i think that men have become
marginalized yes they've become more
marginalized um school is built a little
more for women than it is in girls than
it is for men um women are graduating
high school with with higher GPA much
many more of them almost a we're getting
to a 2:1 ratio almost where uh not quite
there but it's about a 60 to 40 actually
higher than 60% ratio of girls that go
to college as compared to boys and
that's a problem that's a real problem
and then it gets even worse as you go
into a master's or you go into a PhD the
numbers are skewed even higher and
you're getting closer and closer to a 2
to1 ratio of higher education and and
that's an issue and maybe that's
correlated with the lack of
religiosity in women in the younger
women in the younger generations it
could be you know higher education uh
can can be an issue if there's
indoctrination if there is a push for
feminist ideas and careerism for women
as compared to hey I want a balanced
life or even I want to be a stay-at-home
mom um if those ideas are being pushed
away then
uh you know hey you're looking at uh
more women that are staying away from
being a stay-at-home mom or even some
type of a balanced life with family this
of course is manifest in the fertility
rate in the West that is dropping at a
very high rate by the way the state of
Utah which has one of the higher
fertility rates had the biggest drop in
the recent poll of fertility rates that
should tell you something that is a
warning sign utah is still one of the
highest there in the states in the with
fertility rate but the trend is going
down in Utah with fertility size of
families number of children per woman
one of the issues I want to bring up
about this
is the response to talking about women
falling away from the church can be
ridiculous as if you are attacking women
because you're saying that so many women
are falling away from the church has
nothing to do with the messenger it has
everything to do with the data that is
purely the data it's not an attack on
women so if you think you're actually
just bringing it up is some type of
attack i've had so many
people attack me because I'm saying this
because I'm bringing up the awareness on
this i've done this for a couple years
now there are polls that came out in
2023 that were very alarming about women
in the church
and it's it's not a wise idea ever to
run away from truth it's not a wise idea
to put your head in the sand it is uh
it's something that needs to be
discussed and it's something that people
need to be aware of you think parents
shouldn't be aware of
that if if you're a Christian family and
you're you're bringing up your daughters
and and you're sending them off to
college and and you're trying to teach
them about this it's like this should be
something you're aware of young women
are falling away from the church at a at
a pretty high clip young people in
general are falling away from the church
at a pretty high clip and the activity
rate is is is shrinking
uh until the last about 6 months
and it's kind of stayed even now it's
kind of held on in about the last 6
months but it's something that you need
to be aware of it's something that
should be talked about it's not an
attack it's an awareness and there is
nothing wrong with being aware in fact
if you are trying to stifle that thought
if you aren't trying to stifle the
stats then for whatever reason you've
got an agenda that is beyond truth
because that's all it is it's the
statistics and if women are falling away
from the church at a higher rate then
then we should talk about it and we
should talk about why and it should be
addressed whether it's uh are we
supposed to affirm women more or are we
are there other opportunities that are
uh seem to be greater for them um that's
the way the world is looking at it right
careerism and and you don't need a man
and
um you know the push away from children
a lower fertility rate these are all
signs that are are all related to one
another and it's all anti-family to be
honest that doesn't mean that if you
don't have children or you're not going
to have as many children you're part of
the problem that that's not what I'm
saying i'm saying though in general in
general those are problems that's a
problem for society it's a problem for
the economy that's a problem for
character of a of a of a civilization
that's a that's a problem that we should
address so talking about it is not an
issue being aware of it is important
and I've got another episode on this
that I'm going to go over that's going
to really drill down into the stats on
this on why women are falling away from
the church these things are all moving
parts that work with each other they're
like gears with each other education the
opportunity for uh um the younger
generations economically uh women
falling away from the church these are
all things that work together we're in a
different time and we need new solutions
and new
messaging and a stronger focus I believe
on family than we've ever had before we
should be leaning in leaning in to the
uniqueness of the restored gospel
leaning into the doctrine of the family
it is what is going to provide the most
happiness the most joy the most success
the most
order in all of our lives men and
women thanks for listening
