All right. So, this is part two of Abraham Gileadotti and Marcy Campbell from the Isaiah Institute on the book of
Isaiah and learning the literary tools that allow you to fit a structure into
the book of Isaiah. And at a very minimum, you're going to be able to understand several new things uh that
underly the book of Isaiah and how he's writing because he doesn't write in the
way that other books are written. And we need to understand how to understand Isaiah. Remember that Jesus himself in
third Nephi with the Nephites commanded us to read the book of Isaiah, right?
Search these things, he said. And this gives you an opportunity to do that. Also, this episode is brought to you by
the Isaiah Institute's virtual conference. You can go to this at isainstitute.com
where you will see several talks on this, learn a lot about the Book of Isaiah, things that you can apply to
your study and of course then get a greater understanding of the Book of Mormon because the whole Book of Mormon
is wrapped around the Book of Isaiah. Here's part two.
[Music] All
right, welcome to Quick Show. My name is Greg Matson and I am your host. This is part two of our Isaiah Institute course
basically that we're getting from Abraham Gileadotti and Marcy Campbell. Abraham and Marcy, welcome back.
Thank you, Greg. Pleasure. All right, so we left off with our servant at the end here being a light to
the gentile and to the Jews. We're going to move on here uh and get back to the presentation and the slides that we had
and uh go from there. The forerunner gathers Israel's tribes. What are we to understand by the angel
ascending from the east? Revelation 7 chapter and second verse. A we are to
understand that the angel ascending from the east is he whom is given the seal of the living God over the 12 tribes of
Israel. Wherefore he crith unto the four angels having the everlasting gospel, saying, "Hurt not the earth, neither the
sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And if you will receive it,
this is Elias, which was to come to gather together the tribes of Israel and restore all things found in DNC 77."
Right? So there you have the sealing power granted unto them by the angel from the east who is the same person as
a servant from the east in the book of Isaiah which we just covered in the first session that we had and uh he has
power over the 12 tribes because those are the ones who are going to be gathered from their lost and fallen state. They're going to be taught the
gospel and then gather physically as well in the exodus out of Babylon or the
world on the eve of the world's destruction. Even during the destruction they're going to be gathered. So here
we're getting into other scriptures that support all the things that Isaiah uh that we quoted from Isaiah that we
explained previously and we'll show how these scriptures all cohhere together. They're all on the same page with each
other. That's a beautiful thing to see and it is about the thread running
through them all is the ga the gathering of the 12 tribes of Israel which we as spiritual kings and queens of the
Gentiles are to perform for them at that time because we'll be the ones empowered
at least those who get with the program and do that. So this here then is another Elias that we don't know.
We've got we've got the Elias in in Doctrine Covenants 110
with the Gospel of Abraham. Yes. Who's going to bring We have no idea who that is. I mean people guess who it is.
But this is another Elias that we don't know who it is other than what you're saying
is this is this is the Davidic servant. This is the forerunner. There's only one forerunner. When you put all of these
scriptures together, that's what I'm saying. They all cohhere with one another, the the underlying theme being
the gathering of Israel. The gathering of Israel, the literal trial of tribes of Israel is done by two persons. One,
the servant initiates it as the as the angel from the east or the the person from the east, righteousness from the
east as we talk spoke, he personifies righteousness. He comes from the east. And the other are those who assist him
who are known as servants in the book of Isaiah or watchmen or spiritual kings and queens of the Gentiles. They have
different names as he has different names and is Jesus has different names but they're all doing the gathering.
These are these are the ones doing the gathering in the end time and the gathering hasn't started yet. That
gathering of the house of Israel has not yet started. It's part of the end time scenario.
This is a physical gathering. Absolutely physical. Yes. But it's as we'll see it's contingent on on them
first believing in Jesus. That's in the next few scriptures we'll discuss. Jehovah's end.
In that day the springrig of Jesse who stands for an enzyme to the peoples shall be sought by the nations and his
rest shall be glorious. In that day my lord will again raise his hand to reclaim the remnant of his people. those
who shall be left out of Assyria, Egypt, Pathos, Kush, Elam, Shenar, Hamoth, and
the islands of the sea. He will raise the enzyme to the nations and assemble the exiled of Israel. He will gather the
scattered of Judah from the four directions of the earth. Isaiah 11.
Yeah. So there he's called an ends. We we saw that scripture before. Um he's
one of the two ends signs that appear in the book of Isaiah. And also he's the Lord's right hand as
we saw earlier in the previous session that we had. And the word hand there should have been bold but I think
transferring it lost the boldness of it. Um but the raising of the hand there is parallel a little further down with the
raising of the end sign. And these are two synonymous lines that both lead to the gathering of
Israel. the gathering of Israel being done or initiated by the servant who's
who's an end sign to the peoples to the nations. Yeah, he's it's like I said,
his mission is universal from the get-go and it is an end time scenario. Okay,
just a reminder for everyone if you're reading this and you're like, "Wait a minute, I don't recognize all the words here." This is Abraham's
uh translation of the book of Isaiah. So, if you're go following along with
the King James version, it's going to be just a little bit different. Jehovah's End sign and hand. Thus says
my Lord Jehovah, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles, raise my enzyme to the peoples, and they will bring your sons
in their bosoms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. Kings shall be your foster fathers, queens your nursing
mothers. Isaiah 49. Right there, you see the use of, you
know, how word links work in the book of Isaiah. A moment ago you saw that the servant is the the hand of the Lord that
Lord rais lifts up or raises up and here the end sign also. These are two synonymous lines. And when he is raised
up then the gathering happens. And who are the ones that do it? He and the
kings and queens of the Gentiles. Correct. Abraham just to clarify is this this
then occurs before all the world knows that it's the Davidic servant. Correct. Oh, no. And they'll know from the
get-go. Yes. They'll know from the They'll know even prior to this. Yes, they certainly will.
Okay. This happens. So, wouldn't that Wouldn't that cause a obviously for those that would be
against this and fight against this the whole world's going to know then?
Yes. The whole world will be is going to be is going to be fighting against that
cause. Yes. True. And those who have already among us Latter-day Saints who have already taken their stand will then be
on the wrong side of history. Correct? Wait, wait, say that again. And those of us among Latter-day Saints
who have already taken their stand against the person will be on the wrong side of history unless they quickly
repent. Yeah. Okay. Because he he's sent of God. He's appointed of God.
The other end sign and hand. Raise the end sign on a barren mountain. Sound the
voice among them. beckoned them with a hand to advance into the precincts of the elite. I have charged my holy ones,
called out my valiant ones. My anger is not upon those who take pride in me. Hark a tumult on the mountains as of a
vast multitude. Hark an uproar among kingdoms as of nations assembling.
Jehovah of hosts is marshalling an army for war. They come from a distant land beyond the horizon. Jehovah and the
instruments of his wrath to cause destruction throughout the earth. Isaiah 13.
Right? So there is there are two end signs in the book of Isaiah. The one who rallies God's people to Zion in who's
the servant and the other one is the king of Assyria in this case who rallies in alliance of evil nations or uh
against God's people to to seek to destroy them. But the Lord says he's
charged as holy ones and called out as valiant ones before holy and valiant. Two descriptions of
the Lord himself. He's called the holy one of Israel and the valiant one of Israel. So these who who have repented
sufficiently and become holy and valiant who exemplify these divine attributes.
He he doesn't they are not subject to the destruction
that's coming upon them upon the world. He says, "My anger is not upon those who take pride in me." The anger is
something that the king of Assyria personifies. He personifies God's anger. God God is not an angry God, but he,
this person is, he's also called the God's Lord's wrath down below the Lord
and the instruments of his wrath to cause destruction throughout the earth. And there you also see what
who's Assyria? The king of Assyria. Yes. He's the other insight.
He's the other end and had like a latter day Goliath against the David. Okay. And there you can see also that harkum
on the mountains up among kingdoms. It shows you that since these are synonymous lines, a whole synonymous
verse there that mountains acts as a metaphor or yeah for kingdoms or
pseudonym for kingdoms. Abraham, would you um do you believe
that the king of Assyria is the Antichrist? Yes, he's he fits the bill for the end
time Antichrist that uh Daniel speaks of the king of the north, the beast in the
book of Revelation. Correct. And in the New Testament, yeah,
belief in Jehovah, Jesus, perceives physical gathering. Behold, thus saith the Lord God, when the day cometh that
they shall believe in me, that I am Christ, then have I covenanted with their fathers, that they shall be
restored in the flesh, upon the earth, into the lands of their inheritance. And it shall come to pass that they shall be
gathered in from their long dispersion, from the isisles of the sea, and from the four parts of the earth
shall be great in the eyes of me, saith forth, to the lands of their inheritance. Ya, the kings of the
Gentiles shall be nursing fathers unto them, and their queens shall become nursing mothers. Wherefore the promises
of the Lord are great unto the Gentiles. Second Nephi chapter 10.
Yeah, this is our end time role as Ephraites as of the birthright tribe of Israel.
Even though we've assimilated among the Gentiles and come out of the Gentiles to reclaim our birthright, um,
nevertheless, this is a great saving role that we we as Ephraite Gentiles are
to perform to the house of Israel again to the 12 tribes, the Jews, the 10 tribes and Lammonites of today. And it's
physical, right? They shall be restored in the flesh. And we are also going to be instruments in the Lord's hands to
convert them to Jesus. And when they are converted, then they will be able to be
gathered physically. And the exact reverse sequence has happened anciently. When they apostatized, then they were
scattered physically. Now in the end time, they're going to believe spiritually and and get their act
together spiritually, and then they've been physically gathered. Okay? So, so it doesn't say here, right?
It's a little out of context because it starts off below. Behold, thus sayith the Lord, when the day cometh that they
shall believe in me that I am Christ and I have covenanted with their fathers. We're talking about the Jews.
We're talking about the the whole house of Israel. The whole house of Israel here. Okay. Yes. Including the Jews and and Nephites
and so forth. Yeah. Okay. When it's speaking of one, it's usually speaking of the other members of the
house of Israel as well. The call to leave Babylon. Turn away, depart. Touch
nothing defiled as you leave. Babylon. Come out of her and be pure, you who
bear Jehovah's vessels. But you shall not leave in haste or go in flight. Jehovah will go before you. The God of
Israel behind you. Isaiah 52. Right? So there you see that it's a it's
a divine event like the ancient Exodus where the angel of the Lord went before
that them. But this time the God of Israel is going to accompany them as well himself. And of course many groups
will be coming from all around the world because Babylon is the world itself in its wicked state on the point of well
during even during the time of destruction it's coming and that it'll not be hasty because the power of God
will be with them and the vessels there are refers to the house of Israel. peoples chapter 66 um the people of
Israel are are likened to vessels but it's like the ancient Israelites when they brought vessels of offerings to the
temple so these spiritual kings and queens of the Gentiles bring these house of Israel peoples to Zion like offerings
and vessels if that makes sense to the temple what this isn't a parallelism then
because it's Isn't Jehovah the God of Israel yes he So you've got Jehovah will go before you
and the God of Israel behind you. Yes. Well, yes. Well, but if if you read
on, it will be his angels as well will be there'll be a few more lights, but yes.
Mhm. Isaiah sons and daughters gathered to Zion. The Gentiles will come to be your light. Their kings to the brightness of
your dawn. Lift up your eyes and look about you. They have all assembled to come to you. Your sons shall arrive from
afar. Your daughter shall return to your side. Isaiah 60. Yeah, this is Isaiah's sons and
servants. Sons and daughters categories which is sons and servants sons and daughters and handmmaids category which
are the elect of God. They're on a spiritual level higher than the Jacob Israel or Zion Jerusalem level which are
celestial and terrestrial categories. These are a celestial cate people or God's elect with the it's the
elect who are gathered in this end time exodus. the elect that is of the 12 tribes of Israel. And it is it is the
Lord's light, his servant as we saw earlier in the previous session who who personifies God's light and the light to
them to which they're attracted. And he has he's the one who um basically calls
them to Zion. How does this fit into the context of Jerusalem and the new Jerusalem
in gathering goes? The prophet Joseph Smith said that um that there'll be two gatherings or there'll be gatherings to
two distinct places both to the new Jerusalem and to the old Jerusalem and all other nations will be at war with
each other with each other he said. So yeah two two spiritual the new Jerusalem being the United
States. Yes. Jackson County, Missouri. But the old Jerusalem as well. So there'll be
two spiritual centers and physical centers in the millennial age. Correct. So that kind of parallels the ancient
two kingdoms. Correct. Yes, you might say that belief in Jehovah Jesus precedes
physical gathering. Yay. The work shall commence among all the dispersed of my people with the father to prepare the
way whereby they may come unto me that they may call on the father in my name. Yay. And then shall the work commence
with the father among all nations and preparing the way whereby his people may be gathered home to the land of their
inheritance. And they shall go out from all nations, and they shall not go out in haste, nor by flight, for I will go
before them, sayaith the father, and I will be their rear ward. Third Nephi 21.
Yes. So Jesus quoting the same thing again about them him going before them
meaning that the whole Exodus scenario is is by divine power and uh the Lord be
with those who lead the way who are actually the spiritual kings and queens of the Gentiles but they will they'll
have the power of Enoch power of translated beings to go through all of the elements as Moses did also
gathering the elect of Israel's tribes do not fear for I am with you I will bring your offspring from the east and
gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give up to the south, withhold not. Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the end of the earth. All who are called by my name, whom I have formed, molded and wrought
for my own glory." Isaiah 53. Yeah. Just as um just as in Egypt, uh
Israel was in bondage to Pharaoh, right? And Moses said, "Give up." And so he's going to say the same thing to the king
of Assyria in the north and to the south usually meaning America
and um the king of the south and Daniel for example and these are called his sons and daughters which is again that
special elect category he says whom I formed molded and wrought meaning he's
recreated them closer to his image and likeness as an elect category which is
why they're able to come in this exodus under the power of from throughout the earth, east, west,
north, and south. So, it's interesting because he's saying
at the top here, he gives reference as far as moving, migrating
from the east and the west. Yes. But he doesn't do that from the north or from the south. In other words, it seems
like they're migrating from the east and the west because he because he is bringing them.
They're basically they they must be going to I mean they're going to the two Israel.
They're going to the two Jerusalems. Yes. But I go to the old Jerusalem from
the four directions because they're Jews that go there and uh and also to the new
Jackson County, Missouri. Jerusalem, New Jerusalem from all four directions.
They're coming from all four directions. They're coming from all but but he says give up. What does that mean to to come from that from the north? Well, because
the king of Assyria is specifically in the ruler of the north, king of the north, and that is where the 10 lost
tribes are, even in end time Assyria, which of these Russia and Eastern Europe.
Um, so he's going to have power over them, and he won't give them up. That when the servant comes along and is a
power of God, he'll be forced to give them up like Pharaoh did. All right. Could you clarify on this? In the last
episode, you talked about the east being a representation of perhaps the Davidic servant coming from America and it was
the term east that was associated with that. But in this case, you just said to the south which was also considered
America. Is there a way to clarify that? Well, if you go to Daniel, you see the king of the north and the king of the
south. So luckily that is you know but really you can't apply other
scriptures to Isaiah very easily. You have to be very careful doing so
sometimes it it could be just a hidden list thing. Isaiah has his own internal ethic of things and his own internal
scenario that so it's very safe to stay with what Isaiah says about things. For
example, Margaret Barker has a whole, you know, a whole chapter on what Hezekiah about Hezekiah in in the book
of Isaiah. But you can't do that. You can't bring other other people's research to Isaiah and
says, "No, Isaiah has his own internal way of saying things and and and
connecting all the dots. You can't impose things on Isaiah that are historical. They may be historical but
if Isaiah doesn't mention them then then don't don't give them the time of day with Isaiah what he says.
Okay. So America sometimes east, America sometimes south. It depends on the context.
Depends on the context. Okay. Thank you. Power from God over the elements. When you cross the waters, I will be with
you. When you traverse the rivers, you shall not be overwhelmed. Though you
walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Its flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43. There you see the power of God
manifested over the elements like an Enoch's day to bring people to Zion. The
underlying theme being the gathering of Israel. As I've mentioned before, Joseph Smith on the day of power Christ
in the days of his flesh proposed to make a covenant with them. But they rejected him and his proposals and in
consequence thereof they were broken off and no covenant was made with them at that time. But their unbelief has not
rendered the promise of God of none effect. No, for there was another day limited in David which was the day of
his power and then his people Israel should be a willing people from the teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith.
Right? So there Joseph Smith identifies the time of Israel's gathering and and
their willingness to believe in in Christ um in the time of this latter day
David whom we whom we mentioned and called you Joyce Smith on in the first part of this series which is the day of
his power. Now what you've got Psalm 110 referenced here though. Yes because it mentions the day of
power. The people will be willing in the day of power. Jose Smith is quoting Psalms 1103. So the psalm you're saying
the psalm that portion of the psalm is prophetic of the last days. Yes. Also
Jesus angels gather his elect. He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together
his elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to another. Matthew 24. Right? So Jesus although he says that he
will go before them and go behind them is actually his angels are doing the leading. And these angels are actually
translated beings. The ones who walk through the fire and through the rivers and so forth. When you consider that the three Nephites who were translated are
called they were compared to it says they are as the angels of God. And and
the angels from the east is also the servant. I mean angels are really persons right who who come down to earth
and perform missions upon the earth. Yeah. And of course angels in Greek is
really just messengers. Messengers. Correct. Yes. Okay. In Hebrew, too.
In Hebrew, too. Yeah. Malik means angel. Yeah. And and messenger. Both.
That's right. Jesus and his angels, gather his elect. I say unto you, the redemption of Zion must needs come by power. Therefore, I
will raise up unto my people a man who shall lead them like as Moses led the children of Israel. For ye are the
children of Israel, and of the seed of Abraham. And ye must need to be led out of bondage by power, and with a
stretched out arm. And as your fathers were led at the first, even so shall the
redemption of Zion be. Therefore, let not your hearts faint. For I say unto
you, as I said unto your fathers, mine angel shall go up before you, but not my
presence. But I say unto you, mine angels shall go up before you, and also my presence, and in time you shall
possess the goodly land. DNC 103. Right? So this is the same person
because it's the one person who does the leading. He's one likened to Moses also.
This creates kind of an anomaly because we know that Jesus is the one likened to Moses but the servant is also one
likened to Moses. In fact, Joseph Smith is also one likened to Moses but to a lesser degree and he's going to raise up
this person a man and he's going to lead them out of bondage. says, "So we too
will be at some point in bondage, maybe financial bondage or whatever. If
there's, you know, a cruel power, as Isaiah says, that rules Egypt at that time
and it's holding us in in bondage some way as well, we'll be taken out of bondage by power in the day of power,
the stretch arm, meaning the Lord's servant in Isaiah that means the sword's servant." And
he says that his angels shall go up before you and also my presence. So and
in the time you shall possess the goodly land, meaning we receive lands of inheritance. And the angels of kings and
queens of the Gentiles, they bring people to Zion and where where they possess it, where they indeed receive
lands of inheritance, millennial lands of inheritance that basically will go down to generations and not to be sold.
And then of course right after this in DNC 103 verse 21 it talks about Joseph
Smith but that is a different revelation from this. So people confuse the two and they should not. This is
Yeah, I was going to say that's exactly the way this is usually referenced is that this is Joseph Smith. No it's not. It's an end time scenario.
There's only one who does the gathering. Joseph Smith is not going to come and perform another mortal mission upon the earth. It's a ridiculous idea or even a
even a he's already done his mission upon the earth. He's not going to come and do another one. It's it's total nonsense. There's no precedent for that.
Ephraimite Gentiles gather Israel's tribes. Note, the word then does not
imply a chronological sequence. They shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of
Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the new Jerusalem. And then shall they
assist my people, that they may be gathered in, who are scattered upon the face of the land, and in unto the new
Jerusalem. And then shall the power of heaven come down up among them, and I also will be in the midst. And then
shall the work of the Father commence at that day, even when this gospel shall be preached among the remnant of this
people. Verily, I say unto you, at that day shall the work of the Father commence among all the dispersed of my
people, yay, even the tribes which have been lost, which the Father hath led away out of Jerusalem. 3rd Nephi 21. So
you can see how all these scriptures are reinforcing each other as we started from from our first
session previous to this one. All these scriptures that we were citing in that case are also being supported by the
scriptures we're citing now. Unfortunately, as I had a a caution up there, the word then does not imply a
chronological sequence. Some people read this scripture and think then means what it does in English. It's a sequence. One
follows after the other. No, it does not. It's simply referring back to that same time period talking about what
happens in those days. So, this is not sequential here. No, it's not. Hebrew as does not mean
then it as it does in English. That's when it's helpful to know Hebrew or to look up Hebrew translations of
some of those connector words. Right. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for knowing Hebrew, Abraham.
The servant instructs kings. My servant being astute shall be highly exalted. He shall become exceedingly eminent just as
he appalled many. His appearance was marred beyond human likeness. His semblance unlike that of men. So shall
he yet astound many nations. Kings shutting their mouths at him. What was not told them they shall see. What they
had not heard they shall consider. Isaiah 52. Right. So here we get into a little bit
into Isaiah 52. And um so they have to be they have
these spiritual kings and queens of the Gentiles have to learn things and not be told them from the pulpit basically is what's going on here because they need
to learn what their mission in life is. And that is as as uh ephroite gentiles,
they have the birthright which is to perform a saving mission to the other members of the house of Israel if there
is trouble among them which there is. Uh because they're still in a lost and fallen state and Jesus is coming and we
better get you know they better be ready for his his coming otherwise they'll be
destroyed by the king of Assyria. And he himself stands by it because he is so
opposed so much that he's he's marred or disfigured by the very institution within which he arises. And so that is
his offering, a free will offering that he offers. And as we'll see in a moment, it's an acceptable offering to the Lord.
And then good things happen after that. This is his descent phase. And he's also showing what is involved for those kings
and queens and Gentiles to that they too must be willing to offer similar
sacrifices of suffering and humiliation and so forth as he is after the pattern of Jesus Christ who descended below all
things and ascended above all things to glory. So Abraham here obviously most people
would say that this is a reference to Christ in Isaiah right you're saying that this is the Davidic servant. Yes,
it is definitely the servant. It's my servant. Jesus is never called a servant by anyone in the scriptures.
Jesus refers to himself. No, he doesn't really refer to himself. He's teaching the principle of of being the greater
the greater among among you should be a servant, right? But he's not applying that. Yeah, he's implicating that that's
what he has done as as a model or pattern of what they should do. But no one in this no one in the in the stand
of works calls the lord a servant. He's not. He's called the son of god which is a unconditional phase of a vassal king
to an emperor after he has proven loyal and and righteous and and true and faithful to the emperor in his
conditional phase. And if you knew the covenant theology that is behind that you would understand that. that people
jump on anything and just apply it to Jesus when when it it's just not there.
Okay? Because a lot of people what they'll say is, "Well, this is part of the the the ritual temple drama and
maybe this is Hezekiah playing out the role of Jehovah." That that's that's what typically I see in biblical
scholarship. Yeah. That's why biblical scholarship is is condemned
by Isaiah and other scriptures because that's what they do. That's they come up with all these variations of what
actually it actually means. They put their own spin on things and then and they say this is what it says and no
it's not. If you want to go back one slide also Greg I think it's relevant in in looking
at his appearance was marred but with the clarifier beyond human likeness. I
know the savior was marred but it wasn't ever described as beyond human likeness
with semblance unlike that of men. And I don't know that there's that descriptor of Jesus
or that type of an experience of Jesus in the New Testament. Okay.
Yeah. These are see the word links tell you that these are the spiritual kings and queens of the Gentiles. The ones who
are sent out to gather Israel and their arms upon their shoulders. If you understood word links in Isaiah,
you'd probably that would probably help. Okay. I will look into that. Although I
would say Isaiah 53 to me so much points to the savior on that one. So
yes it does. I'm working on that. Yeah. Yes, it does. Mercy. I'm not arguing with that.
Okay. So the servant offers an acceptable sacrifice. He shall see the toil of his soul and be satisfied
because of his knowledge. And by bearing their iniquities shall my servant, the righteous one, vindicate many. I will
assign him an inheritance among the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the mighty because he poured out
his soul unto death and was numbered with criminals. He bore the sins of many and made intercession for the
transgressors. That was part of Isaiah 53 if you want to. Yes, those are the last two verses that
apply to the servant because the servant and Lord himself are like on a par. They
well not on a part but they they work in in they coordinate all through the book of Isaiah like that. You'll see it in
many other instances in Isaiah. So this is this is this verse these two verses
describe the role of a proxy savior not just of Jesus but of his servant and of
all 144,000 servants or any any other proxy saver of his people. And this is how it goes. This is this is the Davidic
covenant that we're talking about under which a man becomes a proxy savior of others and that is his knowledge is the
knowledge of the terms of the covenant that if he keeps God's law and those to whom he ministers keep his law then the
Lord is duty bound to deliver either spiritually or physically spiritually in Jesus' case temporally in the servants's
case or in other servants's case the people to whom he ministers let's go back to that please so his his maring in
chapter 52. We'll come to that in a moment. It's clearly the servant, not anybody else. Next. So, because of his
knowledge of the terms of the covenant, the terms of the covenant say that the vassal king answers for the disloyalties
to the emperor of his people or of those or any person to whom he who ministers
to them. If you have a if you have a calling like a father to a family or a leader of an army or a king to his
nation or and so forth and you keep go you keep God's law and and those to whom
you minister keep your law which used to be reflected in the old temple endowment before it was changed then um the Lord
is under obligation to deliver you the the vassel king and those to whom you minister and that is what's going on
here. He bears their iniquities. It answers for their this disloyalties to the emperor which is the which is the
lord. Yes. And now the being servant which means vassal king actually technical term um
the righteous one or the one who's the right you know personifies righteousness. He will vindicate many.
And that means that they will be delivered physically as the people of King Hezekiah were when he acted out
that the terms of the Davidic covenant and the angel of the Lord slew the Assyrian host that was surrounding Jerusalem. And also he lives. He doesn't
die like Jesus does. He he will receive an inheritance among the great like Caleb and Joshua. He will divide the
spool with the mighty as they did when they conquered the promised land or reconquered the promised land because he
poured out his soul unto death as Hezekiah did was numbered with criminals uh blacklisted and he bore the sins of
yet he bore the sins of many of many he made an intercession by offering himself an offering when he was you know by
willing being willing to offer himself an offering when he was marred and disfigured and that is that actuates the
the protection clause because of the dividic covenant in which a person can become a savior of others physically or
temporally. Yeah, there's a couple things there. I you know I I I think that's right. I
think from my own study I I think that's exactly right. I do think that there's some type of a two or three levels of
understanding. I I mean for me Hezekiah is going to act in a way as Jehovah,
right? He's going to act as Jehovah possibly in a ritualistic manner.
uh that would be carried out and and he's going to in the sense that he he's
got to bear the burdens. In other words, he you know it's interesting and that
you look at like King Benjamin and as he is visited by the angel of the Lord and then he goes out and he speaks to
everybody at the when he's at the temple and he has to purify himself there. He has to make the claim that I am free of
the sins of the generation of this of of the sins of this generation. It's it's very similar to what you're
saying here, right? That's what he's doing as the vassal king of God, so to speak, and he's got to uh uh you know,
his garments are clean, so to speak, right? They're white and they're pure. And just interestingly, you know, it's
the the in the temple temple ceremony in the washing and anointing,
men have to do that. Women don't, right? Men have to do that. Women are
already proclaimed clean. Men have to bear the burden. It just kind of
interesting because that goes along with being a king as well. So yeah, that's what a king means is a
king. A king's role is ultimately spiritual. Whatever political connotations may have or not, it doesn't
matter if a true king is a is a spiritual role. It's a kingly role to be a proxy for his people. A proxy savior
for his people. Yes. like like uh like Jacob says of Nephi and to whom you look as a king or
protector on whom you depend for safety. So that is basically a king's role and
um or as or as King Mosiah was to to his sons they could not be killed nor could
Helman's war warriors he called him his father which which he called him their father which means um a proxy savior and
he called them his sons which means vassels to a proxy savior. Those are technical terms. If we understood them
better, then we would know how this dividic covenant works. And we would also know and understand
the meaning behind temple covenants better as pertaining to the role of a
proxy savior. Yeah, it seems that Benadai also goes over
this. I I want to say chapter, am I right? 13. I can't remember where it's at here. But yeah, where where he's
he's going over the idea of being the sons of Jesus and how how first how
Christ is the father and the son. But he he makes reference to Isaiah 52:7-10
and and basically he seems to be delineating as you said how we're all
going to bear burdens. In other words, it's talking about Christ first of all as the one with the feet upon the mountains and then it talks about almost
like his the prophets and then it talks about all those that accept Christ.
Does that make sense? It's like it's and I'm trying to tie together 527-10 a little bit with what you're saying about
the idea of all having to become vassels. Yeah. So it's true that Jesus in that
particular in explanation is both the father and the son meaning he's a proxy
savior as of the people who are as sons like helman was to his strippling
warriors. Uh but he's also a son to his father so he can be to the to the most
high god. So, and um when the people went from kings to judges, it said every
man expressed a willingness to answer for his own sins, you know, because at that point Messiah or Benjamin or
whoever their kings had been answering to God for their disloyalties. Yeah. Interesting. And I explained to
them how what a big burden that was. You know, and that's what that's why Hezekiah had to suffer or why any proxy savior may
have to suffer grievously sometimes for the deliverance to make sure that the God will protect these people to whom
he's ministering to over whom he has a stewardship. Absolutely. Yeah.
That's fascinating. Can I have a a clarifier? Um the phrase
soul unto death. He poured out his soul unto death. In our English language, I
think some people could signify like the savior where they pour out their soul unto death and then died. And so this
could this be read as soul almost unto death, you know, just yes. So there's not a confusion about
well about the covenant or his righteousness actually physically dying here.
Well, you may have to. That's the point. That's one of the covenants we make. No, I'm saying the Davidic servant you said
does not physically die. Yes, he doesn't in that case. Nor does Hezekiah, but he doesn't know that he's
not going to. And at the time that he's marred or disfigured, the servant doesn't know that he's not going to did
I, you know, and interestingly, there's always you can go throughout temple dramas throughout the world. There's always a
substitute. Yeah. There's a substitute sacrifice, so to speak, that's going to be put in
place. In Egypt, I can go through the whole myth of Osiris. It's the whole thing that Abraham is Osiris because he's playing
the role of Osiris. Yes. But there's a substitute. And that in that case, the substitute is Christ.
Yes. Who's going to save him from being killed on the lion couch? So, so if Hezekiah as the king is there's supposed
to be some type of a substitute and or he even acts as if he's dead is from
what my research is. He goes in and he may he may go into the basement and and be gone for a few days and and come back
in different robes etc where where it's an act of as if he died. It still does seem to be a ritual a
ritual story of the death of the king and you can you can turn it into ritual
but it's a very real graphic situation. I don't know that's made into a ritual. The person experiencing it I mean it's
real it's a real event. It's not he doesn't go through this ritual with the idea of doing this. No,
it's forced upon him because of his role as a proxy savior. If you are a proxy savior as all 144,000 will be the proxy
saviors of those people to whom they go and preach and minister in that time and convert and bring back from physically
out of destruction. you know, who knows that their suffering may have been may
have been uh they may have experienced it before they go out on the mission um
during their lifetime. So that that kind of uh that kind of sacrifice and of
suffering and humiliation whatever the case may be physical or emotional that
will have prepared the way for them to be empowered of God. now because if you knew the backstories of all translated
beings, you'll see some amazing suffering and humiliation, I'm sure, that that have happened in order for
them to qualify for that kind of divine empowerment. Sure. Sure. It's how it works. It's it's after the
pattern of Jesus. All the pattern of Jesus, not to be confused with Jesus because they're doing the same thing to
a lesser degree than Jesus that they're doing it, you know. Yeah. Agreed. But then just to clarify,
the Davidic servant for which we are reading today does not die a physical death or he does die a physical death.
No. The end of chapter 53 says he lives on and divides us below the mighty. Yes. Unlike Jesus who does die.
Yeah. He made his lamb. He made his sorry he made his life an offering for guilt. The
the lamb he is called the lamb of God. He dies. He perishes. But then he's resurrected of course. But no, he goes
all the way and he is he is the substitute for everybody else. It's true. Whose all salvation ultimately
comes from Christ. Jehovah Jesus heals his servant. When that day shall come, it shall come to
pass that king shall shut their mouths. For that which had not been told them shall they see, and that which they had
not heard shall they consider. For in that day, for my sake shall the father work a work, which shall be a great and
marvelous work among them. And there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare
it unto them. But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand. Therefore, they shall not hurt him, although he
shall be marred because of them, yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that my wisdom is greater than the
cunning of the devil. 3 Nephi 21. And so there you see clearly that Jesus
now assuming the role of Jehovah and speaking about his servant in Isaiah 52. So you can't say that Jesus is his own
servant. You know, this is Christ speaking to the Nephites. So how clear how how much clearer he
wanted to be and still deny it. And he's quoting Isaiah 52 about the the king
shutting them out. The spiritual kings and queens and what else? It's a work a great and marvelous work because they
won't believe it because they think the greater marvelous work is the restoration of the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. No, it's not. That
is called the beginning or the commencement or the foundation of the greater and marvelous work. to get a marvelous work itself is this end time
restoration of the house of Israel according to the scriptures if you read them carefully and see what they actually say and not assume things. So
there, yeah, there's Jesus and there's a servant and there's also the father there. Three distinct persons.
Where where's the Oh yeah. Okay. For my sake shall the father work a work. Yes. Three distinct persons, right? You
can't you can't somehow impose one over the other. Real quick here. Let's let's let's mark
these here again where you're saying it. So you got the father here. You've got but behold the life of my servant shall
be in my hand. Jesus speaking. And Jesus is speaking. So you've got Jesus speaking as a third person and
that's Jesus's hand so to speak, right? The servant shall be in my hand. Yes. In Jesus hand.
So those are Yeah. Okay. So those are the distinct three distinct people here. Yes. And it's an end time scenario. All
of Isaiah is an end time scenario, not the time of Joseph Smith. Jehovah Jesus heals his servant. I have
seen his conduct and I will heal him. I will guide him and amply console him and those who mourn for him who partake of
the fruit of the lips. Peace, well-being to those far off and to those who are near, says Jehovah who heals him. Isaiah
57. Right? So he has his supporters, he has those who love him and labor with him.
And uh so at a certain point once he has made that offering of himself and is
marred uh then the lord heals him and that's not resurrection as in the case
of Jesus or that's not that's not just being cleaned up after tar and feather job besides this is an end time scenario
you know this is an actual miracle of healing and and I reckon that that's also when he's
translated because once he's paid the price and God empowers So this is so Jesus interior Nephi
speaking as Jehovah here in this verse in this chapter 57 of Isaiah. Okay
when he says he's going to heal him. Ephraimite Gentiles reject Jesus word.
Therefore it shall come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words who am Jesus Christ which the father
shall cause him to bring forth unto the Gentiles and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the
Gentiles. And then a parenthesis. it shall be done even as Moses said and of parenthesis
they shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant 3 Nephi 21.
So this continues what Jesus was saying earlier. Um so there are some among us who are not going to believe the words
of Christ that the servant brings forth and um give him power. So he's going to
have extraordinary power like the prophet Joseph Smith to bring forth Jesus words as Joseph Smith brought
forth the Book of Mormon which is not exclus exclusively Jesus words this will be and to forth unto the Gentiles
meaning to the Ephraite Gentiles and he's again he's one like unto Moses even
though he's not the one like unto Moses and we'll see that once more um we saw
it earlier right and and so those who take sides against this these events who've already decided
probably by now where they stand anyway with these kind of scriptures. They will be cut off among the people of the
covenant which are the latter day saints. How would they have already decided that? Because it seems like the division of
things that are already in place. The division of people in their beliefs of scriptures. There are so many are so
fixated on the precepts of men or misinterpretation of the scriptures. they believe them to be so true that and
they've already kind of invested in those published books about them. They're it's not going to be easy for
them to come around to an entirely different point of view, you know, and so they will be the ones fighting
against the truth. Take the take the time of Joseph Smith for example. There were those who were in the in of the
inner circle of the prophet Joseph Smith who were the most violent enemies. you know, they will be they were cut off and
so will be in this in this day and age. Jesus's words are on the large plates of
Nephi. He did expound all things even from the beginning until the time that he should come in his glory. Yay, even
all things which should come upon the face of the earth. And these things have I written, which are a lesser part of the things which he taught the people.
And I have written them to the intent that they may be brought again unto this people from the Gentiles, according to
the words which Jesus hath spoken. And when they shall have received this,
which is expedient that they should have first to try their faith, and if it shall so be that they shall believe
these things, then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them. And if it so be that they will not believe
these things, then shall the greater things be withheld from them, unto their condemnation.
Behold, I was about to write them all which were engraven upon the place of Nephi, but the Lord forbade it, saying,
I will try the faith of my people. 35:26.
Yeah. So, you could have emphasized um these things. First of all, we received
these things. When they have received this, meaning the Book of Mormon, right, which is peace, they should have first
to try their faith. If it's so that they shall believe these things, the Book of Mormon, then shall the greater things
that were withheld, such as the words of Christ in the large place of Nephi and others, be made manifest unto them. But
if they do not believe these things, the Book of Mormon, including the words of Isaiah, by the way, then shall the
greater things be withheld from them unto their condemnation. You know, we read the Book of Mormon. It's almost
like you were saying earlier earlier, Marcy, it's like these are such
interesting stories and they really are and we can get so swallowed up in the storyline of it and forget about that
they're actually prophesying things or typifying things that are going to repeat themselves. You know,
we we have I think we have a hard time actually believing this. And at this point in Oh, sorry, Greg.
Go ahead, Marcy. I was just going to say at this point in Third Nephi, they had already received the commandment from
Jesus himself to study the words of Isaiah. Yes. To search them diligently.
Yeah. Yeah, it takes about two minutes. What's interesting as I'm going through this with you is there there's
there is so much prophecy, you know, when you're when you're reading it in the context of prophecy
and and not just, oh, these are really good words that I should live by.
It it it changes everything. All the scriptures that we read today in
our previous session as well, you know, they all cohhere together, which is so remarkable that scriptures from the
Doctrine of Covenants, from Isaiah, from the Hebrew prophets, from Joseph Smith personally, um, from the Book of Mormon
especially, they all get it right. And these have been staring us in the face all this
time, and we're still getting it wrong. You know, that's almost incomprehensible.
And there it is. That's the situation today. Yeah. Well, so if we go back to the
verse here and it says believing these things being the Book of Mormon, what are you know that I think most
people would take that more as a bumper sticker, right? It's like, well, yes, I believe the Book of Mormon, but but what he's saying specifically is I believe
these things. What would you say it's more precise than just the Book of Mormon? I mean, yes, it includes the
words of Isaiah. He had just given the commandment to give to to search these things.
He does doesn't he say in that verse when he commands people to read the book
of Isaiah doesn't he say these things? He says these things which are written which are lesser part of the things which he taught to people. And if you
follow that idea through the Book of Mormon less part greater part or less portion the greater portion it's talking
about two two specific things. is the basic principles of the gospel which are in the Book of Mormon. Even though it
has the fullness of the gospel in the lives of those who are living the fullness of the gospel, that's where the
fullness of the gospel appears. And if you follow their lives like the sons of Messiah or Nephi, the son of Hale, you'd
see the fullness being acted out. But other than that, the Book of Mormon contains basic principles of the gospel.
And these are the these are the lesser things as a whole as a whole as a as an entity. the lesser portion with the
greater portion is waiting for us to receive as soon as we actually believe and live what we already have. Right?
That's why we're still under condemnation as a church says we're taking lightly the things we have received. We've never come out from that
condemnation thus far. It's waiting for us to do it for it to happen.
Well, Greg, I I pulled up 3R Nephi 23:1. I'll just read it because you are correct. Say
verse one. And now behold I say unto you, now this is Jesus talking to the Nephites. Okay, verse one. And now
behold I say unto you that ye ought to search these things. That's what I thought.
A commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently or great
are the words of Isaiah. Well, there he has been quoting Isaiah and he's referring to these things as
the prophecies of Isaiah. So that's a different context, Marcy. Yeah, it is
different context but he it's interesting he still uses that term these things there but yes we have been given so much Marcy
and and everything that we receive can be referred to as these things and but if we actually believe them and live by
live by them then there's more to be had and he's he's just he's so anxious to
give us more but you know we're not there yet as a people individuals maybe
but not not as a people okay righteousness is sent out of heaven.
Righteousness will I send down out of heaven, and truth will I send forth out of the earth to bear testimony of mine
only begotten. His resurrection from the dead. Yay. And also the resurrection of all men. And righteousness and truth
will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood to gather out mine elect from the four quarters of the earth unto a
place which I shall prepare and holy city that my people may gird up their loins and be looking forth for the time
of my coming. For there shall be my tabernacle and it shall be called Zion, a new Jerusalem. Moses chapter 7.
There you have an actual instance where another scripture entirely Moses kind of
coheres with Isaiah by saying righteous will he send out of heaven. That is the that is the person called righteousness
who comes as an angel from heaven to perform that mission as a latter day
upon the earth personifying righteous. And at the time of his coming because that next line is in parallel with it.
truth will I send out of the earth because that's the time when the when the words of Christ on the large base of Nephi will come forth which he brings
forth it's third Nephi 21 and when other records will also come forth to bear
it'll be a world it'll be it'll be a worldwide event of of truth uncovered to
all the earth out of the book of Book of Isaiah out of the Book of Mormon out the words of Christ on the large place there
was so many records coming forth it really will be a flood and we better be ready for it and I
I wish we had more of it now, but like you said, I don't I don't think we're ready for it. No, we're not. And the reason we're not we don't understand what we have.
Yes. And especially if we understood the words of Isaiah, understood the prophets of Isaiah, which takes about two years
to assimilate. Actually, even applying the even applying the simple tools, literary tools that we provide. You
know, if we understood them, then the new records be of will find them be of the same genre will will understand
them. But if we don't understand Isaiah, they will seem I'm predicting they will seem so foreign they will actually be
fighting against Zion before before we realize what we're doing. Yeah, that's an interesting thought. Many sealed records will come forth. All
others who have been to them hath he shown all things and they have written about them and they are sealed up to
come forth in their purity according to the truth which is in the lamb in the own due time of the Lord unto the house
of Israel. 1 Nephi 14. Right? And if you do a word search on the own due time of the Lord throughout
the scriptures, you'll see it's a a particular time in the end time when the words of prophecy um of other records
and um of the mission of the Lord's servant. the whole end time scenario what Joseph Smith calls the winding up
scene when that happens that that is called the OMG time of the lord when the father intervenes and the lord
intervenes and the holy ghost is powerful throughout the earth and the 144,000 others are performing when the
spiritual kings and queens are performing their end time mission that is the only due time of the lord that's throughout scripture that that
phrase you can do you can do a word search throughout the scriptures I did it in my book end time prophecy gave a detailed
um search of all that of of that term and many others that that I consider
that is really my very best book about the whole end time scenario of Isaiah and of all the scriptures.
Two options for the etherite Gentiles. They were set to be a light into the world and to be the saviors of men and
in as much as they are not the saviors of men. They are a salt that has lost its savor and is sense for good for
nothing but to be cast out and trotten underfoot of men. DNC 103. Yeah, those
are basically as Ephraimite Gentiles, the birthright tribe, we have we have two options. Um, one to take on our role
as saviors our birthright role of saviors of of the house of Israel of of the lineages, the
natural lineage, the Jews, the Gentiles and Lemonites. And if we're not, then you know, then we really have have lost
a lot. We've been given so much will not be worthy of of the glory that we anticipate. Yeah, that's that and again
that goes back to what you were saying previously about the idea of the vassal king
right taking on the burdens taking on the sins of the generation and and as we
all need to do the same thing we're yes we will be asked we will be asked
because the house of Israel the Jews 10 and basically are still in a lost and fallen state spiritually because they
have to be converted right before they're gathered where those scriptures. So we have in the meantime while they
are still in that uh uncertain state spiritually we have to as saviors answer
for their iniquities. As you read in chapter 53 of the last two verses of Isaiah about the servant that is that is
how we become proxy saviors of others so that the Lord is is obliged to deliver
them physically as he delivered the sons of Messiah or delivered the sons of Helman. they could not be killed because
they had the knowledge the knowledge that their mothers knew of the terms of these covenants. If you understood if
you und that they had among the Lemonites and if they unders if we understood the the temple covenants in
that context in terms of the dividic covenant and that's what our conference probably what our conference is all
about on Saturday um then we would it would to totally change the whole
dynamics of how we operate as Latter Day Saints. It would be outwardlooking rather than inward looking to ourselves.
We're looking to see how we can serve the Lord in the end time and and we would be performing wonderful and
glorious events like in Ezenus's alligator olive tree where the Lord commands his one servant same servant to
go out and gather other servants so they can do the grafting in. You know it it's all through the scriptures. It's been
there all along and we haven't seen it. It's why don't you why don't you tell us
just a little bit more about the conference as we wrap this up. Right. So on Saturday, the Isaiah Institute is
having a fundraising conference. I think it's about $25 or something. And you're
given at least that much in other in in in other materials uh reading
materials like the becoming kings and queens of the Gentiles an e ebook version of that. And there is a lineup
how many speakers? I think there's about nine speakers including myself. And there's a question and answer session
with me at the very end. And this is all day Saturday, the 8th of November.
Okay, great. And we'll make sure that we've got a link in the description on both parts on on this. Uh Marcy,
anything else you want to add here at the end? I'm It's my pleasure to be here. Thank you for having me.
Okay, great. Abraham and Marcy, thank you both for for everything here. This is like going through a course right
here of uh learning Isaiah. I wish people would open their books and read
Isaiah and and get comfortable with it and learn about it. And I I think we it
it's it's our responsibility to do it. That's what it's written for. It's
written for us and for our responsibility to take that and carry it out. And if we don't know what's in
there, we can't carry it out. So, uh I I I really appreciate this. Nobody does a
better job of going through and focusing on Isaiah as Abraham does in and the Isaiah Institute. So, thank you Abraham
and Marcy both for being here. Thank you, Greg, for giving us the chance to talk about these things. Bless
you both. All right. Bye-bye. Bye. [Music]
