Cwic Show- BLM, Race, Identity Politics, Church

'Ben Overton' Tim and I disagree on several issues on race, identity politics, the Anti-Racist movement and identity politics, but this is a good discussion from two people with differing backgrounds (one black, one white) in reaching out and creating dialogue. We need more of this globally, in the US, in our communities and in the church. We discuss, Colin Kaepernick, Ibram Kendi and Anti-Racism, diversity and inclusion, prison reform and systemic racism. Also, how do we identify ourselves and where are race relations in the church today. Tim is a partner in the law firm, Dickinson Wright‘s Phoenix office. He spends a substantial amount of practice time counseling corporations, organizations and law firms on all things diversity, inclusion, and belonging, including addressing discrimination allegations. He has received the Arizona Black Bar Association’s Individual Excellence in Diversity Award, and been named a fellow for the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (2017). He serves as a governor-appointed Commissioner on the Arizona Commission on African American Affairs, participates on the Arizona African American Leadership and Legislative Committee, and teaches a class on Race and the Law at Arizona State University Law School.
