Cwic Clips- Women at the Wells

When Jesus met 'the woman at the well', John frames it as a betrothal scene to show Jesus as the 'bridegroom'. In addition, we can see other betrothal scenes at wells in the scriptures with Isaac & Rebekah, Jacob & Rachael and Moses & Zipporah. Women represent water and would typically gather at wells when fetching water for their families.
