The US Department of War left out The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from their category of "Christian." There were 21 "Christian" denominations listed on the approved Chaplaincy list of faiths, including the Jehovah's Witnesses. President Trump and members of his cabinet have previously referred to the LDS as "Christians." Who decided to leave out the "Mormons" from the "Christian" list?

Did the Department of War and Secretary Hegsth recently say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Christian?

So in a memorandum from the Department of War dated May 20th, 2026,
there were 180 religions removed from a an approval list essentially uh for religious support from the
chapency of the military. Now the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is still on that list. There aren't that
many left, but something very peculiar comes up when you look at the list. Take a look at this. You can see here the
letter head of the under secretary of war. The date May 20th, 2026. The me memorandum is for secretaries of the
military department's director defense human resources activity. The subject implementation guidance for updated
religious affiliation codes. We still have one. But take a look at this list.
Coming down to the second page, the list of religious faiths. You have agnostic, bahigh, bahigh faith, Buddhism and then
you have a number of the Christian faiths here. Let's take a look here. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
19 20 21 here are listed. Let's make this a little larger here.
Including, by the way, the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Seventh Day Adventists.
Now, what don't you see there? Well, as soon as you run out of Christian category, this is a category that they have on here.
Right below the Seventh Day Adventist, you have the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with no designation as
Christian. Essentially pulling the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons, out of Christianity
as a category. So, you have to ask yourself, well, let's see. Does the Trump administration think that the church is not Christian? Does the
Department of War think that the church is not Christian? It appears that way.
However, let's go back to a couple of clips here from President Trump and President Trump's press secretary about
the Mormons. First, this is a truth social uh post that was put up by President
Trump. This is in response to the Michigan shooting and attack at uh in in Michigan on the on the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. He says, "I have been briefed on the horrendous shooting that took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."
Look at that. Very pro, very proper. In Grand Blanc, Michigan, the FBI was immediately on scene and will be leading
the federal investigation and providing full support to state and local officials.
The suspect is dead, but there is still a lot to learn. This appears to be yet another targeted attack on
Christians in the United States of America. Okay, so here President Trump himself is saying, "Hey, this was an
attack on Christians." He very clearly articulates the entire name of the church, the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, and keeps us in the Christian category, which he should. And as the president rightfully put in his truth social yesterday, this appears to
be yet another targeted attack on Christians. And the Trump administration is fully committed to not only
investigating these crimes, but prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law, but also working very hard to prevent them, to see if there's
Okay, so what is she saying? She's repeating what he's saying. But she's saying the Trump administration is concerned about these attacks on
Christians. Of course, this follows somewhat several months after uh Charlie Kirk. So, what was this really all
about? Well, back in 2017, even under Trump at the time, this list had exploded of these number the number of
faiths under the chapency approved list to well over 200. And so, they've reduced this down to 31 different
faiths. at least were on there. But here on the Department of War's own website, here's what they say. Secretary of War Pete Hegsth yesterday announced a pair
of reforms to the military's chaplain corps. Speaking to the public via a video post on social media, Hegathth said the War Department will be
significantly streamlining the number of faith code affiliations for service members. Okay. So, going back again to
2017 and taking a look at what was available at that time that what I could find in documentation, here is the document from 2017 with all
of the different faiths, over 200 of them. And you can see what is on here.
There are some pretty crazy things. I've never even heard of some of these different denominations or different
faiths that were on here. So, I understand why a number of these are used. I did hear that 82%
of all those that work with a chaplain in the military are under only six different codes, six different faiths.
Okay, so that it makes sense that they whittleled this down. Hey, there we've got our community of Christ on there at least in 2017. And here we have Church
of Jesus Christ, Latterday Saint. Okay, Church of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saint. And that is given the code DL.
you know, in sports that means that you're on the disabled list. I think that's what they've done. They've put us on the Christian disabled list.
So, we're benched from Christianity. And I found this interesting. This is what uh Secretary Hegth said about whittling
down the list. As I reported to you in December, in previous administrations, our Chaplain Corps was infected by
political correctness and secular humanism. The core functions of the Chaplain Corps were changed and watered
down until they were viewed by many as nothing more than therapists.
Okay, that's true. I agree with all of that. The problem is he said this was because of political correctness. This
had ballooned to well over 200 different faiths on here and many of them were not faiths at all. Right? Secular humanism,
you had atheists listed on here, you had pagans listed on here. you know, a lot of these different secularized uh
8 minutesanti-faith actually types of of faiths or or belief systems is probably a better way to say it. But it's not just
it's not political correctness that's happening here with not having a Christian category for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This
is more like religionism, right? This is this is a a a a bias, a you know, I I don't know. Is it [clears throat]
bigotry? Can you say that? Is that too far? Is that going too far? I we know what we've experienced especially with a
certain branch of Christianity in the United States is this. Think about as they're making this list and they've got all of these different denominations
that are being put in here into the category of Christianity and then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is an obvious decision that is made here, right?
They're they're at a table. They're deciding what to do and and what we're putting in here in the Christian category category and they leave the

Because it's a snub. It's it's a major snub to us. Sometimes I think when I hear these types of things, I'm just like, fine, whatever. I don't even want
to be associated in that way in the with with this because obviously we're hated in and and and and uh and we know this
already from the Pew Research, right? We already know that we're like at the bottom of the list of of people that the
least liked, which I think is more of a skew of actual not not actually whether you like those individuals or not, but
it has to do more with what's taught in churches, right? It's more about our faith. It's more about our belief system and they
see us as this kind of competitor or something with with them. And I think that's what people are actually responding to on those surveys. I don't
think they most people don't even know a Mormon, right? So So to say that you're they're the least liked that I don't think that usually that really makes a
10 minuteslot of sense to me. I mean the number one thing people say which I don't like honestly I I is that we're like the nicest people. And you'll hear this even
from like an evangelical person who is really dismissive of our beliefs. They say, "Yeah, they're really nice people,
but so I I don't believe those things." But there's an obvious bias that we have in the United States against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
And it seems to have appeared here with the Department of War and inside of the government. And it's concerning. We
describe ourselves as Christians. And the reason I don't just let it all go and say, "Well, fine, whatever. Let's just not even because we're not honestly
we're not trying to be a part of the group. That's not the point. We don't care if we're part of the group. We are
different. We want to be different. We want the distinction.
I I think hopefully usually lately I'm not so sure. But we want to be different, peculiar, if you will. The
11 minutesproblem with doing that is it's not just a grouping. It is a description.
And and if and if for some reason people thought that we weren't Christian, because I hear this all the time with this program, people that aren't aware of the Latter-day Saints, it's like,
"Oh, you guys aren't even a Christian." To the point of not just you don't you believe in a different Jesus, but you don't believe in Jesus at all. A lot of
people think that and and it's it's obviously ignorant, but it's what's pushed out there. So, I
don't think we can give that up. We are called Christians. At least the Nephites were called Christians by those that were not Christians.
Amalachiah in the Book of Mormon makes this very clear. So I don't think that we can give that up. And I think really we need to fight for it. We do have to
fight for it. Even though sometimes it's like whatever, whatever, fine.
Because the core of our religion is the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We do believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that
is in Jesus Christ who was born to Mary in Bethlehem that chose 12 apostles that suffered in Gethsemane was lifted up on
the cross and then resurrected on the third day that he is our Lord and our Savior that he paid for our sins. That
is the very core of everything we believe and of all of our practices. So I think that battle there socially
is is something that we have to stand for. We have to be able to fight for that even if we have to battle with the Department of War. Thanks for listening.
