One night, John Renouard had a dream. A vivid dream. He saw a man-powered, water drill that could reach remote parts of the world and supply clean water to villages. Eventually, a team of BYU students built the drill at Brigham Young University. Today, the Village Drill supplies water to over 7 million people in 36 countries.
Up to 11% of the world's population does not have close access to clean water. There is still a water crisis in many parts of the world. This Cwic Show episode covers the story of the Village Drill, the effects it has on villages in Africa, and the unique way WHOlives partners with those villages to provide a well that supplies water and is a commercial asset for the village.
