The Magdala Stone- This Isn't Your Grandmother's Judaism!

“When she first saw the stone, ‘they say I stood there for three hours.'”

The Magdala Stone is a large carved stone found in an ancient Synagogue in Magdala, the namesake of Mary Magdalene and a city in Galilee that Jes

us may very well have taught in. The altar-like stone offers yet another example of how the current understanding of how Jews worshiped has been brought into question.

The stone is carved with temple symbols including a seven-branch menorah.
