Jefferson's "Wall of Separation"

Jefferson’s “Wall of Separation” letter is a precursor to the “Establishment Clause” in the First Amendment of the Constitution. He is responding to a group of Baptists in the state of Connecticut who felt their religious freedoms were limited compared to the majority religions of the state.
