Holland BYU Speech- Muskets and the Hyperbolic Aftermath
The response to Elder Holland's BYU speech earlier this week includes many that support Elder Holland and many, louder and hyperbolic reactions that are grounded in a twist of Elder Holland's words, spirit, and intent of his speech.
The "muskets" have been used as a distraction and have the metaphor has been appropriated as an aggressive attack on the LGBTQ community. Many are rallying around this false narrative.
